Emporium of MirthEd Byrne
Elfin Ed Byrne (see what I did there) has taken his act all over the world over the last few years, and far from making him jaded and world weary, he has used his gifts for good. His act has matured with him while keeping that energy that set him off on that long and winding road.
Ed’s act contains very few punch lines and as such, shines out from the barrage of gags and poorly thought out routines the audience have been subjected to on the evening in question. The only criticism I can muster for Ed, is that he sometimes has a tendency to talk a little too fast, but even this, in the context of his act is endearing, and makes the audience take more notice to the words he is firing out fifty to the dozen.
Whenever I have seen Ed, whether that be through TV appearances or on stage, it always strikes me that his act is too short, but this feeling is left simply because the anecdotes he relays and the scenarios he creates are so finely crafted that he is infinitely watchable.
