Dean Edwards

Now, I have a bit of a problem reviewing Dean, the reason being he fills in all the tick-boxes on the “Stereotype Criteria Fulfilment” form. He’s Black and American… guess what most of his act is about? Yup, his act is about the differences between white and black people, and the differences between English and American people.

To be fair to him, he did separate these slightly, the first half about him being black, and the second half about him being American, so the show had structure but he didn’t have enough energy to pull off going over such well trodden ground.

I long for the day when this kind of comedy dies, people are different to other people, we know this, we don’t need more lazy comedians shoving it down our throats.
