As the compare of the evening, he was relying on audience participation to liven up proceedings, and provide a springboard for his material. Sometimes, this worked perfectly but others were badly judged. After speaking to a food safety officer, he asked her to use her influence on wheel clamping before launching into his wheel clamping based routine. A lot of his material is brilliantly realised and by his final entrance of the evening, he appeared to have shunned his audience participation idea and as a result, performed a routine which delivered on his earlier promises.
