Dylan Moran - Monster II

In London for a special 7-night run, Dylan Moran’s Monster II show is something of a treat from start to finish.

With a projected backdrop of surreal and sometimes quite worrying sketches, Moran ambles casually onto the stage and slurs and swears and rambles his way through the entire gambit of the human condition.

Dylan manages to cover overly tried-and-tested ground such as the differences between men and women and the effect of age with a new twist… his only strangely embittered opinion. He spews bile and randomness from the stage at a rate of knots, but his demeanour remains as relaxed as he was in his own sitting room.

I’m usually loathe to use the word ‘surreal’ for comedians, as the word is so often misused, but for Dylan Moran I think it sums up his outlook perfectly. From the pictures projected on the wall to the yarns he spins, Moran almost manages to encapsulate the essence of Dali, and this can only be a good thing.
