Emporium of Mirth

Gina Yashere

Gina Yashere has, over the last few years built up a very loyal following and in her case it’s clearly not luck that has caused this to happen. Gina is an everywoman, treating the audience as equals and welcoming them to her bosom. Though even though she is so down to earth, you’ll never see her in Lidl.

A lot of her set is very obviously improvised as she interacts heavily with the audience and though she veers into stereotypical black vs. white territory quite a lot, it is with such a fondness that you can’t help warm to her. This is a woman proud of her Nigerian roots, she’s not using them for any sort of agenda, she’s simply letting you a little further into her world.
