Soho-ho!

Just a few doors down from the smoky soul-filled environs of the wonderfully jazzy Ronnie Scott's lies The Arts club, which, in a saturday turns into Soho-ho, a club which bosts three headliners a week.

It's cenral location means that it can pull in the best acts, so as a result, all three acts do full length sets and are, usually, all of equal quality and punter pulling power.

However, it is sometimes a little hit and miss, and one of our visits saw davidson-a-likes Nick Wilty and Ian Stone nestle alongside cheeky scampster Noel Fielding, whos billing had caused the fire regulations to be broken to smithereens.

Then there are the compares. In most venues, the compare is usually someone of at least comparible skill....not Sohoho. How can Graham Anthony, a man who's entire act is based around laddish, stoner based gaga, introduce the wonderfully femenine Shoppi Korsandi? Or the childlike mysticism of Noel Fielding?

It just doesn't quite work...

Add to this the fact that it's basement location makes it the smokiest venue on the circut and the fact that a round of drinks for two breaks the £8 mark, make sure it's a good line-up before you go.
