Emporium of Mirth

The Chuckle Club at LSE

Tucked away in a hidden part of the London School of Economics is what can only be described as “an old man’s bitter drinking establishment”. Outside and even elsewhere in the building, it has a plush, modern air but as soon as you step into “The Three Tunns” you suddenly feel like you’ve been transported to an episode of Phoenix Nights. And not in a good way.

This is not helped in the slightest when the compare, the dubiously named “Eugene Cheese” marches onto the stage and begins singing what he calls “the chuckle club anthem” and urging people to join in. Luckily, the bar is student prices, so people actually listen to him.

In short, make sure there’s a good line up before you go.
