Get a bunch of armchair pundits that have played Amused Moose a couple of times or been on one of them "I love the 1870's even though I wasn't alive.... ooh weren't Bustles fabulous!!" shows and put them in actual armchairs, ask them a few inane questions and what do you get?
That's right - Inanity
Oh the Joy.
The problem with this show, is that with the right mix of guests it could actually be quite good post pub fodder. I mean, what's the post pub TV session for - talking bollards. Unfortunately, they've got the woefully inadequate and, to me, quite frightening Justin Lee Collins presenting it, and the mix of guests just isn't right. The first show starred the star of oh so many failed Pilots and king of the slightly off the mark one liner, Frankie Boyle, token female Cherry Green, ACTOR Rhys "Seriously, though" Thomas and camp oddbod Paul Foot.
Although Paul Foot did TRY to change his style to fit the fast moving format which strictly doesn't follow his style, He did play the Gay card one too many times in order to try and be as funny, Rhys Thomas showed he really needs half an hour and a pen and paper to come up with a funny line, and Frankie Boyle was just... well, annoying.
The show turned into a patronising, trying too hard mish-mash of out of their natural environment and therefore depth comedians trying to throw around funny words in an attempt to get them in the right order.
Basically, what I'm saying is, see who the guests are before you even contemplate watching it. In the right hands, this could really work... they just need to put it in the right hands.
